Finished rereading The Chosen and read The Promise. The fandom of one is now fully informed.

I declare canonslash. In about chapter three of Chosen, Reuven's father says, and I quote, "A Greek philosopher once said that two people who are true friends are like two bodies with one soul." Putting it back into context as coming from Plato and the Fanboys(which would be a really cool name for a rock band), and we get implications of a lover/beloved relationship. And this is chapter three. I call canon.

Going outside to write in the rain. Fwee.

*blink* Are those good books, then...?

Also, can I have Achilles back? I'm getting seriously low on all reserve Iliad-inspiration on this end...

They're very good, if you don't mind having to read rather than gobble. Good literature, definitely not cotton-candy reading. Come, join my fandom!

Oh, sure. Here. *hands him back* It seems to be against my creative tendencies to write Greek mythology fic during Passover. *shrug* Such is life...

*blinks* I gobbled Paradise Lost. I can handle almost anything by this point...'Dracula' does not count, it being best used as a door stopper in my opinion.

*hugs Achilles* Welcome back! Get to work!

That was me quoting my muse, sadly enough...

It's not that you *can't* gobble Potok, but it's like Dickens; the digression is the most interesting part. Much with the enjoyable, if you like that sort of thing. It's character-based, not plot-based.

My muse believes me to be completely useless, and has therefore decided to feed me mini-ideas that need to connect with one another but don't fit. This is my muse's idea of a joke.

That's a joke? I thought that was how you write novels...

O.O What in the world is this book doing next to my bed? I swear it wasn't here yesterday...I'm not kidding, either. This is creepy.

And the book I'm referring to, by the way, is "The Promise" by Chaim Potok. Ye gods, my parents need to stop sneaking books into my room...

Irony, don't you think?

*winces as she reads the back*

I'm not sure. I think it's my muse being evil, because it always happens when the ideas I do have are very attractive.

Irony: It's not just a metal anymore.

Start with The Chosen, though; read through about five chapters and tell me you see the slash. Then read the rest, and tell me again.

You have books *appear* in your room? My parents/cat/hair/dustbunnies show up, and books vanish. Particularly my favorites, or the ones I'm about to want to refer to. *growls*
