I got an MP3 player! Yay! *does happy dance of technological advancement* Dad's Microsoft MVP-ness paid off in a really really cool way. So now I get to find out how it works. You people out there, is it possible to transfer music from a CD to an MP3? For that matter, where does one go for one's music?
Also got:
A CD player, which is getting exchanged for a less obviously masculine one ASAP (It's blue and orange, is called 'Shock Wave', and has a skateboarder on the package--how could you miss it?).
A Simon & Garfunkel CD, with promise of further CDs to come when the mail decides to play nice.
Books! Including the 501 French Verbs book! Measure of weirdness: I open a book on verbs and squeal with glee. Anyway, further books include Eats, Shoots, and Leaves, It All Started With Columbus, an excellent book on Japan in the Heian period, and some others.
Vols. 2 & 4 of Clover--must seek out Vol. 3 as soon as I can.
A (second) copy of xxxholic vol. 1
Gloves, earmuffs, scarf.
Japanalia shirts, sweater.
Calendar, a piece or two of jewelry, and such.
A nice little humpback whale figurine
Chocolates!
A UJO (Unidentified Japanese Object), which I'm going to have to take to class first day of next semester and ask a)what it is, b)how it works, and c)what the instructions say.
All in all, a most profitable Christmas. And yes, it was Christmas, we've been over this before, the tree and presents and cookies all had Christmas in front of them, and anyway I said so.
