My subconscious is telling me to write slash for The Chosen now. At least, that's what I think it wants. Whatever it wants, it wants it a lot, and I must bow to it. Because if I do, then maybe my dreams will cease to feature Reuven in a black velvet dress with pearls. The fact that he was waltzing with Danny in my school gymnasium is a minor point by comparison.

I think Crowley's superiors have decided to step up the tempting for the Days of Atonement, or some such. Because argh. My psychoanalyst says that my dream means he needs to run far, far away and hide under furniture, but since my psychoanalyst is Danny, I think that went without saying.

Today's installment in the Why I Don't Like X series: Scale. )

As far as I can see, the major offense of X is trying to do epic fantasy on a specific scale, putting everything in a very small group. This does not and cannot work. I know CLAMP can do both, separately. Magic Knight Rayearth is fine epic fantasy (the girls learn to their cost that it's not all about them), and CCS is wonderful specific fantasy (Sakura doesn't affect the world, only a small part of it). When they tried to make it all about a few characters AND affect the whole world, that's when it started to fall apart. I don't really blame them for dropping it.
