Well, the relatives didn't arrive until this evening, so Christmas dinner & presents are being postponed until tomorrow. However, in the fashion of my people, we went to a movie and had Chinese food instead.
Sherlock Holmes = win and squee. That is all.
They're not even being remotely subtle here. It may not quite reach text levels, but they rock the subtext *hard*. It's all Holmes and Watson and their true pure love. (It helps that the Theoretical Love Interest actresses are pumped full of botox, eurgh, and have infinitely less chemistry.) Watson is unusually competent, which makes a lovely change from the standard screen interpretation of can't-find-his-arse-with-an-atlas Watson. And Holmes is entirely himself. They do interesting things with that, film-wise. So it is a thing full of explosions and science and detection and did I mention the TRUE and PURE love? And steampunk! Funtimes!

kh_drabble exchange turned out awesome. I've decided not to try for Yuletide yet, with all the strain on the server. In a couple days, a week maybe, it'll have calmed down and I'll be able to read the damn thing.
