livelongnmarry is a fandom (but not only or exclusively--I recognized quite a few mainstream authors participating) auction to raise funds with which to fight attempts at banning same-sex marriage in California. How does it work? If you have skills but no money, you decide what you're willing to do in exchange for a donation, and you offer to write/draw/make whatever it is. If you have money but no skills, you bid on people's offers starting on July 1st. The winning bid is the amount of money you donate. If you have money and skills, you do both.
Is that not awesome?
I am offering both
fanfic and
original fiction for bid. Most of you have *something* at least as good as anything I could offer, so why not? (And if you have money, and by 'money' I mean 'my minimum bids are $5, which is typical for fic', why not donate to a good cause?)
