Of makeup and failures thereof.
Sep. 1st, 2005 11:12 amLast night was Costume & Makeup night at bellydance! 'Twas very much of the fun.
I--we--whatever, I got a new choli (tie-around top) in bright blue. It's very stretchy and comfortable. I'd wear it to school if it wasn't for the belly shirt and open back factors. Also got some darker (but still vibrant) blue poofypants. I will wear those to school. Because I am weird.
We also found a Death-style ankh necklace! (*hearts*) I couldn't not buy it, could I? Also a nice purple headdress and matching string of coins to dangle from shirt. It looks better than it sounds.
Bellydance is, by the way, one of those activites that mixes a lot with the RenFaire and cosplay crowd. It's the dress-up. We are encouraged to do weird, anime-character things with our hair. Odango, said Vikki (the teacher), are excellent places to stick things like flowers.
I am horrible at putting on makeup--unsurprising, since I've never worn it. Me + Eyeliner = Demented Panda. On the other hand, sticking the bindi to your face is fun, as is drawing facial tattoos (ee! Death swirly!).
Stormflare, Shiro, my mom is conspiring to force you to come have a makeup party with us. It's part of her "Shiro would look good in eyeliner!" thing. Be warned.
