Apparently alcohol really is an acquired taste. I finally managed to try a wine that was actually quite nice. I'm weird.

Yes, I am 14. Yes, my parents know I was trying alcohol. My parents gave me the stuff.

They see it as follows: There is nothing wrong with someone underage trying small amounts of wine in the presents of her parents. With any luck, she'll develop a taste for the good stuff, not the bad.

Possibly they're right. I drank a grand total of 1/3 of a glass. It wasn't that good. But I actually asked for a glass after trying it. So it was comparatively very good indeed.
