Among the many downsides of Tumblr, it seems like I can't go a few hours without seeing aphobia - usually in the form of reactions/resistance, but it still serves as a constant reminder that there are people - other queer people! - who think I'm not queer. In which case I'd love to know what they think I am, since I'm sure as hell not straight in any way, shape, or form. I'm pretty sure you have to be attracted to men for that? It's, like, a prerequisite?

But here I am, not interested in being straight but not queer enough to stay in the queer community. If there even is one of those anymore. All I ever see is infighting and discourse.

I mean, Twitter is worse, but I need a Professional Social Media Presence. Part of the trouble is that the more well-informed I am, the more depressed I get. Why is everyone such assholes?

I'm grateful for the insight to certain kinds of conversation that I got from being on Tumblr, but I sure got tired of the overall tone of the site. I'm pretty much over social media, tbh. Like, I can feel lonely and unheard without assistance, y"know?

If I had any other way to make friends and interact with people, honestly, I'd turn into a hermit who emerges only once a year to post fanfic and vanish again.

Unfortunately, I am definitely prone to isolation madness.

As an aroace Tumblr user, I feel this in my Bones. X.x I hear you, cuz the aphobia sucks.

Most of the queer people I meet irl and in online places other than Tumblr agree that aros and aces are queer, so I think it's just a vocal minority on Tumblr being jerks. XP

I know it's just a vocal minority even on Tumblr, but the structure of Tumblr means that I can never just forget they exist. Honestly, I'm kind of Over even posts like, "don't forget that aces/aros are queer! exclusionists unfollow me!" because they remind me constantly.
