School Post.

Dear English Teacher,

I would respect you and be inclined to learn from you a lot more if you could avoid making errors on quizzes. Peisistratos is Nestor's son, not Menelaos'. They're kind of easy to tell apart. One's this old guy, rules Pylos, strategist, could talk the hind leg off the animal of your choice, the other's fairly young, rules Mykenae, married to Helen, and so on and so forth. Got it now? Good.

Also, I'm not reassured by the fact that your idea of an ending activity is to watch and compare O Brother Where Art Thou. Just, y'know, doesn't give me the feeling that this class has anything to do with English.

Yours,
Me.

Dear Chem Teacher,

If you'd made it clear that you gave a damn about homework, maybe I would've done more of it. If it'd seemed worthwhile, even. I must introduce you to the principals of inflation: The more you give, the less it's worth. Thanks to your busywork, I have to be perfect for the rest of the year. I hate you.

Me, the one you gave an 88 to this quarter, despite the fact that, considering my 100 on the midterm and the way you keep having me tutor, I clearly know what you were (not) teaching.

Volleyball (in Gym class, especially, with music blaring) is one of the circles of Hell Dante doesn't tell you about, between Condescension and Telemarketers. Bah. Two weeks--may prepare me for Eternity after I die.

Sociology had better be good. It had just better. She's saying we'll take notes a lot, and I'm in a group with people who are at least vaguely responsible and/or competant, so it might be decent.

Feh. I'm going to catch it when report cards come out.

Your chem teacher sounds like my Chem professor (except I just lost my time and did the fucking crap).

No, because if she was a professor, I don't think she'd be the stuck up snob she is, and she really wouldn't be counting homework much!

Well you haven't met my professor. Our homework counts for a buttload of our grade.

Mykenae? That's Agamemnon. Menelaus is king of Sparta. At most he may have gotten to rule it during that one year during which Orestes was exiled, but even if so I don't think that really counts.
