Finished reading Rebecca for the required reading. Bet you half a dollar that the other books I read (Endurance and either Cold Mountain, Autobiography of a Face, or Frederick Douglass) won't be as interesting.

Because, wow. Murder and passion and all that other thriller-y stuff. Not to mention the scary obsessed lady who insists that the victim didn't care for any man in a totally non-lesbian way of course NOT, and the wide open ending, and the main character whose name we never find out. Meep.

I hereby solemnly swear that I will get at least another full page of Telekinetic's Ghost written today. I hope to finish it. Not sure what the heck age group it's going to be for. I'd show it to my sister, but a lot of adults would cringe. Talking to Lilith and Lucifer and presenting them as interesting people and all. *secretly plans to name her first daughter Lilith*

Also read the second book of the Flaming Mary Sue Quartet (anyone?). Discovering she's a girl probably made a number of people feel rather relieved, actually. After all, they must have noticed how their Crown Prince looked at 'him'. Must have made them feel better to know that getting him to produce an heir wouldn't be an issue.

But does Tamora Pierce play that for what it's worth? NO! Bad writing, I call it, not making something so funny, well, funny. Hmmph. *goes off to read Twelfth Night*

Oh, Shiro-kun, it may amuse you to know that Thomas B. thinks you're closeted gay, on the grounds that you're pretty and nice and broke up with your girlfriend. *snorfles* Of course, he called Ami-chan a floozy, so then I kicked his face in a bit. Turns out he didn't even know what that meant. *le sigh* I used more swearwords yesterday than I've used in my entire life before...

Well, I wrote a page and a half, discovered I don't know how Satan talks, and watched the muse run away. On the other hand, Lilith is fun (and not at all influenced by Granny Weatherwax, oh no...). And I like her. I love my characters. Yet somehow, I get the feeling Satan will not live up to them. I don't know how he's going to sound, and I need him to have at least as emphatic a personality as the rest. Otherwise, it's like watching a play where the principal is played by a bad actor; no fun. So I need to come up with a personality for him as suitable for what the Bid Bad Guy is not supposed to be. Maybe he'll develop melodramatic tendencies. Hey, yeah! All I'd have to rewrite would be that bit where...*rambles off*

Next on my 'Happy Stories for Little Folk' list is the real story of Snow White. No, not the one with Evil!Snow White, because a)that's been done, and b)That's stereotyped too, only the other way. No, this is the ConspiracyTheory!Version, featuring Vague!King, MischievousYoungBride!Stepmother, and WillingAccomplice!Snow White. Because I can, that's why.

On the other hand, I feel darkly cynical and like reading stories about how the stories are the wrong way round. So I'll go do that, and hope it goes away by tomorrow.
